Penn State is committed to equal access to programs, facilities, admission, and employment for all persons. It is the policy of the University to maintain an environment free of harassment and free of discrimination against any person because of their actual or perceived age, race, color, ancestry, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, physical or mental disability, religion, creed, service in the uniformed services (as defined in state and federal law), veteran status, marital or family status, pregnancy, pregnancy related conditions, genetic information or political ideas. Discriminatory conduct and harassment violate the dignity of individuals, impedes the realization of the University’s educational mission, and will not be tolerated. This access is extended to all university sponsored youth programs, including 4-H.

The needs of any participant in a youth program will be discussed privately with that child’s parent/legal guardian on a case by case basis with the goal of promoting a safe environment and quality experience. Financial Aid

A limited amount of financial aid is available from Penn State Outreach and the Department of Architectural Engineering for this program. If you would like to be considered for financial aid, please complete the following steps.

Register your child online and type AIDAPPLICATION in the discount code field. This will bypass the requirement to pay while your application is reviewed.

Once you’ve registered, complete the Youth Program Financial Aid Application - Building Our Future Summer Camp 2026 immediately. The form asks for the following information:

  • Total household annual income before taxes
  • Total number of family members in household
  • Whether the child qualifies for free or reduced school lunches
  • Any additional circumstances you wish to be considered (such as medical expenses, job loss, etc.)
  • Note: We are not collecting tax returns or paycheck stubs, so parents/guardians are expected to supply information that is true and accurate.

The priority application deadline is March 16, 2026, and notifications are estimated to be sent by March 26, 2026.  Applications will be considered after this date if funds are still available. If you are given a partial award, you will be required to pay the remaining balance. In the event that an award is not granted, the full balance will be due, or you may decide to withdraw from the program.
