Architectural engineering deals with the integrated design, construction, and operation of buildings - focusing on the unification of building envelope, mechanical systems (HVAC), electrical systems, lighting systems, construction, indoor environmental quality and human comfort. To ensure the safety and fuction of buildings, multi-disciplinary research is necessary, as architectural engineers must have an understanding of all aspects of the design-build process.
